Maya Hawke Says Season 5 of “Stranger Things” Will Have Longer Episodes

The actress Maya Hawke 25, said in an interview with the Podcrush podcast that filming for the fifth and final season of “Stranger Things” should last a year. In addition, she revealed that the episodes will be longer than the others.

“Our showrunners, Matt and Ross, take on a lot of responsibility. They have an incredible team of writers, but they are very involved. They write a lot and they are very intense and serious about the quality of the ongoing writing. It takes a long time to write each season and it takes a long time to film them,” he said.

“We’re basically making eight movies. The episodes are very long,” he said.

Filming for the fifth season began in January of this year. The release date for the new episodes has not yet been revealed.

“Stranger Things” premiered in 2016 and is one of Netflix’s most successful productions. The four seasons already released are available on the streaming service.

In the plot, a group of friends become involved in a series of supernatural events in the quiet town of Hawkins, where they face monstrous creatures, secret government agencies and parallel dimensions, called “the upside down”.
