The dramatic phrase of the Ukrainian president was revealed by the diplomatic editor of Axios Barak Ravid, citing two European sources who were informed about the call.

The teleconference came shortly before EU leaders decided on a new set of sanctions against Russia. Zelensky pressured them to take steps they had not been prepared to do, according to a European diplomat.
