MC Daniel received, on Thursday (25), the set of Pedro Ernesto medals, considered the highest honor given by the Rio de Janeiro City Council.
The medal was given to the funk player by councilor Verônica Costa (PL), known as “Mãe Loira”. The parliamentarian, who highlighted MC Daniel's humility, was the owner of Furacão 2000, a giant of the musical genre that she founded alongside her then husband, Rômulo Costa.
“He represents a young revolutionary for funk. He makes a transformation not only with art and music, but also through attitudes, the campaigns he runs so that people can discover the sport more”, said Verônica Costa to Rio TV Câmara.
In the stories on his official Instagram profile, the owner of hits such as “Dentro da Hilux” and “Renasci das Cinzas” celebrated the achievement and published a video recording the moment.
“I received the medal of commander of Rio de Janeiro, thank you for the honor. Another giant step taken in my career”, wrote MC Daniel in the caption.
