McDonald’s Corp announced today that it plans to reopen her restaurant in Ukraine in the coming months, in an early sign of Western business returning to the country, even as the war with Russia continues.
The company closed all its restaurants in Ukraine and Russia in March following Moscow’s invasion, simultaneously selling most of its Russian restaurants to one of its local licensees in May.
THE McDonald’s said it would gradually reopen some restaurants starting in the capital, Kyiv, and western Ukraine.

“After extensive consultations and discussions with Ukrainian officials, suppliers and security experts, and taking into account the request of our officials to return to work, we decided to institute one phased design to reopen some restaurants in Kyiv and western Ukraine,” Paul Pomroy, head of McDonald’s international market operations, said in a message to employees.
The company emphasized that cooperates with suppliers to transport products to restaurants and bring employees back to its stores in Ukraine with enhanced security protocols.
McDonald’s had 109 restaurants in Ukraine, but the company did not specify how many it plans to reopen.
