Also, the presence and stay of customers outside the gambling and betting companies is allowed, provided that the service will be done exclusively in table seats and on a protocol basis.

The above measures that will be regulated by Decree, come into force from April 1 to April 30. The cabinet will meet the week before Holy Week to assess the epidemiological picture for any adjustments to the measures in force ahead of Easter.

“Having the weapon of vaccination at our disposal, we are accelerating the pace of vaccination coverage of the citizens in order to increase the rate of shielding of the population as soon as possible. Vaccination is a national project, to which we are called to respond successfully. On the basis of the flow of vaccines received by Cyprus, continues vaccination, with emphasis on vaccination of vulnerable groups and the general population with age criteria. The protection offered by the vaccine is now obvious, since for weeks the cases in nursing homes and the elderly have been reduced to a minimum, as well as the admissions to the hospitals of people over 70 years old. At the same time, what is found is the reduction of the seriously ill, since in most cases the symptoms are very mild.

At the same time, great care needs to be taken to comply with health protocols and personal protection measures. Once again, I thank all the citizens for their effort and cooperation. We are at a pivotal point that will judge a lot for the future and complacency or relaxation can lead to a deterioration of the epidemiological picture. Adherence to the measures, tests and vaccinations is the triptych that will lead us closer to the end of this great adventure “, noted Mr. Ioannou.
