Media: Bitmain will help create a mining center with a capacity of 500 MW in the US

Chinese mining equipment manufacturer Bitmain has partnered with US-based Merkle Standard to build a 500 MW mining infrastructure.

According to Cointelegraph, citing Merkle Standard CEO Ruslan Zinurov, Bitmain will supply 150,000 miners to the US. The mining center will be powered by hydroelectric power plants in Washington State.

According to Zinurov, it will be “the largest green mining platform in the US.” The company also hopes to become a major employer in eastern Washington and support local businesses.

“Due to the flexible load characteristics of the power grid, our data center (DPC) will be an ideal customer for local electricity suppliers. We look forward to providing additional support to the local community,” said Merkle Standard Chief Strategy Officer Josh Zappala.

The first phase of a 225 MW data center is currently under construction in eastern Washington. During 2022, Bitmain will supply Antminer 19J Pro, S19 XP and S19+ Hyd devices there. At the same time, the company hopes to launch small “third-party” sites across the state.

At the end of December, another American mining company, Marathon Digital, announced the conclusion of a contract for the largest supply of Antminer S19 XP ASIC miners.
