Media: Coinbase is testing subscription service with zero fees

American cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase is testing a new subscription service called One. Service users will be able to trade without commissions, and will also get access to additional functions.

According to a Coinbase spokesman for The Block, the service will initially only be available to a small number of customers, but the coverage will increase later. In addition to zeroing fees, subscribers will receive higher priority on Coinbase phone support, “including weekends and holidays”. In addition, users of the service will receive “additional protection” for their account.

“If funds were stolen from your Coinbase account, then you can receive a refund of up to $ 1 million,” – said a spokesman for the exchange.

Thanks to the Coinbase One service, the exchange’s management hopes to diversify the sources of the platform’s income – now the main profit comes from trading commissions. However, it is not yet clear how much a subscription to Coinbase One will cost.

Apparently, Coinbase has decided to follow in the footsteps of other companies. For example, Robinhood has a subscription service called Robinhood Gold that gives users access to higher quality market data and margin trading.

Earlier, Coinbase announced the launch of a new service, within which clients of the exchange will be able to receive loans secured by bitcoins. The maximum loan amount is $ 1 million.
