MediaTek Filogic 830 and Filogic 630 chips support Wi-Fi 6 and 6E

MediaTek has introduced a new family of wireless connectivity solutions. It is called Filogic, and its first representatives were the Filogic 830 SoC and the Filogic 830 Network Interface Controller (NIC). Both chips support Wi-Fi 6 and 6E connections.

Manufactured at 12nm, the MediaTek Filogic 830 single-chip system is characterized by ultra-low power consumption. It is marketed as the foundation for routers, access points and mesh systems. The SoC configuration includes four Arm Cortex-A53 cores operating at up to 2GHz, 4×4 Wi-Fi 6 / 6E for up to 6Gbps connectivity, two 2.5GbE ports, and multiple peripheral interfaces. Built-in hardware acceleration blocks for Wi-Fi offloading and networking provide faster, more reliable connections. In addition, the SoC supports MediaTek FastPath technology for low latency applications such as games and AR / VR.

The MediaTek Filogic 630 Network Interface Controller supports simultaneous operation in 2×2 2.4GHz and 3×3 5GHz or 6GHz configurations up to 3Gb / s. It supports the unique 3T3R 5/6 GHz system with internal interface modules (FEMs) that provide equivalent or better range than competing 2T2R solutions with external FEMs. The high degree of integration helps to reduce and reduce the cost of the list of components, while achieving sleeker designs with a small external RF interface area. The third Filogic 630 antenna provides superior transmit beamforming capabilities as well as diversity benefits. The Filogic 630 supports interfaces such as PCIe, allowing it to be combined with the Filogic 830 in broadband gateways, enterprise APs and tri-band routers.
