The Civil Police of Goiás is investigating a medical clinic suspected of carrying out aesthetic and surgical procedures by professionals who allegedly did not have permission to provide the services. This Wednesday (18), the teams served four arrest warrants and seven search and seizure warrants in Goiânia and Anápolis, where the clinic is located.
The operation, called “Hidden Face”, investigates those involved in the crimes of criminal organization, illegal practice of medicine, serious bodily injury, false advertising, embezzlement, carrying out a highly dangerous service without authorization, in addition to adulteration of therapeutic products.
According to the police, the Karine Gouveia clinic allegedly caused physical harm to several patients, the occurrence of materials and products that were not suitable for such procedures, in addition to employees who were not qualified to perform surgeries.
Investigations indicate that around 24 victims contacted the police to report cases of after-effects following surgeries carried out at the clinic. The surgeries, according to the police, were carried out by professionals without technical skills, who used inappropriate substances during the procedures.
The owners of the site and those responsible for technical matters are targets of the investigation and had their accounts, assets and values blocked by the authorities, totaling approximately R$2.5 million.
THE CNN seeks contact with the defense of those involved and the space remains open for demonstrations.
