Strong reactions were caused by the positions of the deputy president of its Security Council of Russia and former president of the country, Dmitry Medvedevaround the future of Ukraine, when the war is over.
In particular, Medvedev uploaded two maps on Telegram, the first showing the data after the 2014 Ukrainian crisis, including Crimea and the two eastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk.

“In the mind of Ukraine’s president, damaged by psychoactive substances, this is what the map of his country’s bright future will look like”wrote the former leader of Russia.
As for the second, it concerns her future Ukrainian which is limited to a small area around Kyiv. Yes, seven areas in the west have been annexed by Poland and three in the southwest by Hungary and Romania, while the rest of the country has been absorbed by Russia.
As shown on the map, the seven regions annexed by Poland include Lviv, Lutsk, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi and Zhytomyr regions. Romania is depicted as having annexed two regions, namely, Chernivtsi and Vinnytsia, and Hungary is depicted as having annexed Uzzhorod.

“Western analysts believe it will actually look something like this”Medvedev said about the second map, without naming any analyst.
Romania reacts
The Romanian Foreign Ministry opposed Medvedev’s appointment. In her announcement, she talks about “map assigning imaginary Ukrainian lands to Romania” and adds:
“Such behaviors are part of the propaganda and disinformation tools that the Russian Federation has been using for a long time, and which has been strengthened since the start of the illegal and aggressive war against Ukraine.”
