Medvedev: The enemy is not only fortified in the “Kiev government”, but also in Europe

Russia will build a new generation of weapons that can also be used against the West, former president Dmitry Medvedev said. The “enemy” is not only in Kiev, but also in Europe and other parts of the world that have “sworn allegiance to today’s Nazis”.

Russia, according to former president Dmitry Medvedev, is ramping up production of new-generation weapons that could potentially be used against the West. The enemy is not only entrenched in the “Kiev governorate,” Medvedev wrote on Telegram today, referring to areas of present-day Ukraine that belonged to the Russian Empire under the tsars, according to a Welt report.

“It’s also in Europe, North America, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and a bunch of other places that have pledged allegiance to today’s Nazis,” added the deputy chairman of the National Security Council. That is why Russia is increasing “the production of the most powerful means of destruction, including those based on new bases.”

Hypersonic weapons, which Moscow says it has been developing for years. Since sending Russian troops into Ukraine in February, Medvedev has been posting more anti-Western and passive-aggressive posts online.

Russia’s military setbacks in recent months have raised concerns that it could turn to its nuclear arsenal to reverse the trend. On Wednesday, head of state Vladimir Putin said Russia would only use nuclear weapons in response to an attack. Two days later, he said Moscow was considering changing its military doctrine to include the possibility of pre-emptive strikes against other countries.

The US State Department has called any talk of nuclear weapons, however vague, “completely irresponsible”.
