Medvedev’s message: British officials are a ‘legitimate military target’

British officials constitute “legitimate military target” because of his support United Kingdom in Ukraineits former president and vice-president of Russia’s Security Council warned, Dmitry Medvedev.

Dmitry Medvedev stressed that the UK’s support for Kiev amounts to an “undeclared war” against Russia, while he described the UK as an “eternal enemy” of Moscow.

Earlier, British Foreign Secretary James Cleverley had stated that Ukraine has the right to “project military power beyond its own borders”, to resist Putin’s invasion. The statement in question is related to the drone attack that Moscow received, for which, however, the Ukrainian authorities have officially denied that they were involved.

Responding to the British Foreign Secretary, Medvedev said: “The stupid officials of the United Kingdom, our eternal enemy, they should remember that under the universally accepted international law governing modern warfare, including the Hague and Geneva Conventions with their additional protocols, their state can also be described as being at war».

“Today the UK acts as an ally of Ukraine, providing it with military assistance in the form of equipment and specialists, i.e. is waging a de facto undeclared war against Russia“, he added. “Accordingly, any of its public officials (whether military or civilian facilitating the war) can be considered a legitimate military target.”
