With more and more restrictions on combustion vehicles appearing around the world, nothing is more natural than the emergence of several electric cars.
Despite being late in the adoption of battery-powered models, the Brazilian market is still expected to receive a series of new 100% electric vehicles throughout 2022.
We have separated a list of eight electric cars that are already confirmed to arrive in Brazil. Check out:
BMW iX
Launched in the United States in June, the BMW iX is part of the German brand’s electric model offensive. With SUV body and similar size to the current X3 combustion, the car caused controversy for the look of the front, but has several attributes to compensate.
It is equipped with two electric motors, one on each axle, providing all-wheel drive. They are capable of delivering 523 horsepower. The batteries have a capacity of 111.5 kWh, enough for a declared range of 500 km.
In the United States, prices start from US$ 82,300 (about R$ 460,147).
BMW i4
Another BMW electric vehicle that will arrive in the country in 2022 is the i4. Revealed in March last year, the sedan has already had its entire production for 2021 sold, with more orders even than the iX.
Similar to the BMW 3 Series, the i4 can have one or two electric motors delivering 335 hp and 536 hp respectively. The range, in turn, is 500 km and 400 km.
The starting price in the US is $56,395.
WORLD Tan
Debuting in the Brazilian market with electric cars, the Chinese BYD (Build Your Dreams) will bring the Tan, a medium SUV, in the first half of 2022.
With two engines and all-wheel drive, it offers 517 hp and 69.4 kgfm of torque. The range offered by the 86.4 kWh battery reaches 472 km in urban use.
The price has not yet been made official, but should be between R$400,000 and R$500,000.
BYD Han
Like BMW, BYD will arrive here with the SUV and also with an electric sedan. It is the Han, a car that is similar in size to a large model. The specifications for Brazil, as well as the price, have not yet been confirmed.
Outside, it can have a 222 hp electric motor, or two delivering 494 hp. The range, respectively, reaches 605 km and 550 km. The 77 kWh battery is the same in both cases.
Chery EQ1
The national electric car market will not only live in large SUVs and luxury sedans in 2022. One of the small and more affordable models that may arrive in Brazil this year is the Chery EQ1.
It has an aluminum frame and weighs just 1,005 kg. With 55 kWh batteries, it promises up to 402 km of autonomy on one charge.
There are rumors that it will arrive here as the cheapest new electric car in Brazil. For this, it will need to cost less than the R$164,900 charged by the JAC E-JS1 today.
Chevrolet Bolt
One of the first electric cars to arrive in Brazil, the Chevrolet Bolt won a new generation in the United States in 2021. The car had been promised to come here last year, but was delayed by a series of recalls, as its batteries started to catch fire. in the North American market.
Due to arrive now in 2022, the new Bolt has 203 hp from the single engine at the front, 66.7 kWh batteries and 416 km of autonomy.
The pre-sale of 20 units here has already sold out, and the car was selling for R$ 317,000, a value that should be corrected upwards.
Renault Kwid electric
The Renault Kwid is about to receive changes. But this will not be the only novelty of the car, as its electric version should also arrive here in 2022.
It is already offered in China as Renault City K-ZE and in Europe as Dacia Spring. The numbers, however, are modest. It has 44 horsepower, 26.8 kWh batteries, a maximum speed of 125 km/h and a maximum autonomy in urban use of 295 km.
In Europe, the Dacia Spring costs €17,890 and is made in China.
Volvo C40
Volvo is one of the most advanced companies in its electrification plan for Brazil. By 2021, all of its cars were hybrids. Starting this year, the XC40 will only be offered as electric and the stock won’t stop there.
In 2022, the C40, a coupe SUV derived from the XC40, should also arrive here. Being able to have one or two engines, it delivers up to 408 hp of power. The 75 kWh batteries provide a range of up to 438 km.
