Meet Dawn Richard, singer who testifies in the Sean “Diddy” Combs trial

Singer Dawn Richard, 41, is still interrogated on Monday (19) during the judgment of rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs, 55, in New York, United States. She had already begun to witness late Friday afternoon (16), after Cassie Ventura, 38, ex-girlfriend of the hip-hop tycoon, completed her participation in the court.

She emerged for the star in 2004, when she participated in the Makind The Band 3 music reality on MTV and formed the Girl Group Danity Kane. The set soon signed with the Bad Boy Records, which took care of the girls until 2009, when they separated. At the time, Dawn Richard, Diddy and Kalenna Harper came together and formed another group, the Diddy-Dirty Money.

On Friday, the singer testified that she saw Diddy physically and emotionally abusing Cassie Ventura for years. She described an incident at the Comb House in Los Angeles in 2009, when she said that Combs beat her then girlfriend Casandra Ventura, 38, and dragged her through the stairs by her hair. Richard then said he heard glasses breaking and screams.

Richard witnessed that Combs called her and others who witnessed the alleged studio aggression the next day, gave them flowers and said their careers would be harmed if they reported the incident.

Lawyer Lisa Booner, who is not involved in the trial, told the CNN that Dawn Richard is a very reliable witness because he closely witnessed the relationship of Combs and Cassie.

“I think she will make this a success in terms of her testimony and how it relates not only to Cassie, but also to other accusations that are encapsulated in the accusation,” said Bonner.

“In my legal opinion, I think she’s a very reliable witness.”

The rapper declared himself innocent of five criminal accusations of conspiracy of extortion, sex trafficking and transportation for prostitution purposes. He has been detained since September at a Brooklyn prison when he is not in court. If convicted of all the accusations, he can take 15 years to life imprisonment.
