Meet the social network Koo, which gains space amid criticism of Twitter

With the arrival of Elon Musk at the helm of twitter the social network has faced a series of criticisms in recent weeks.

Dissatisfied users have migrated to a new social network, call koo , created in India. The name of the platform reached the “trending topics” this Friday (18) with the adhesion of Brazilians.

The microblog has characteristics similar to those of Musk’s social network, with occasional differences. In the new social network, it is possible to create texts with up to 500 characters, while on Twitter the limit is 280.

THE Koo social network is available for download for iOS on the Apple Store and for Android on the Google Play Store.

After downloading it is possible to choose a preferred language. For now, there is still no version in Portuguese. Registration can be done with a Google account, email or cell phone. The platform automatically creates a username, which can be changed once the account is created.

On the new platform, it is possible to share content via WhatsApp and Facebook, for example, more quickly by selecting the icon of each application from the options.

“Free speech for the non-English population (80% of the world) remains a challenge and Koo will continue to make open expression more inclusive across all languages and cultures! Everyone needs to have a voice!”, said Aprameya Radhakrishna, co-founder of the platform in a post on Twitter.

This Friday, the also co-founder of the social network Mayank Bidawatka announced that the possibility of migrating publications from Twitter to the platform is underway.

“We will soon allow you to easily migrate all your old tweets to Koo and also help you find your existing Twitter followers on Koo. I will keep you posted,” said Bidawatka.
