The President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou received the Minister of Rural Development and Food Spilio Libanos, who informed her about issues within his competence.
In particular, Mr. Libanos referred to the strategic plan of the new Common Agricultural Policy and informed Ms. Sakellaropoulou about the priorities of the national policy for the agricultural economy. At the same time, he offered to the President of the Republic products of Protected Designation of Origin from eight regions of Greece.
Mrs. Sakellaropoulou, referring to the products of high quality and nutritional value produced in Greece, stressed the importance of the agricultural sector for the development of the country. He also stressed the contribution of new technologies in the implementation of new, innovative practices of “green” agriculture, which are a challenge and an important opportunity for Greek farmers and for our country as a whole.
