The basic regulations of the bill “Jobs again” for OAED were analyzed by the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Kostis Hatzidakis to the representatives of the social partners, in the context of an informative teleconference held today.
Mr. Hatzidakis noted that the three axes of intervention concern:
First, in the modernization of OAED itself in order to transform it from a subsidiary bureaucratic organization into an efficient Public Employment Service (as it will be renamed), to the standards of advanced European services, which with active employment policies will find jobs for the unemployed.
Secondly, in the rationalization of the regime of benefits and benefits of OAED by establishing income criteria, because – as he said – “it is one thing to support the unemployed and another to cover fraud”
Thirdly, in the redesign of the vocational training framework, so that “money takes up space”, especially given that in this sector funds of over 1 billion will be channeled in the coming years. euros from the new NSRF and the Recovery Fund, with strict conditions and control mechanisms.
This was followed by a discussion and exchange of views, where among the issues raised were the representation of the social partners in DYPA and the way of managing LAEK through the Council of Social Partners provided in the bill.
The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs noted that the transfer of the management of LAEK from OAED to the social partners was a constant request of the latter which is now satisfied, while referring to the new administrative structure of DYPA he spoke of a “new balance of things” that provides a more flexible Board of Directors, while strengthening the participation of the social partners in the issues that concern them most. Mr. Hatzidakis also pledged that the support of the social partner institutes will continue, highlighting the important role they can play in the new era of vocational training.
The meeting was attended by the President of GSEE Giannis Panagopoulos, the President of the Executive Committee of SEV Efthymios Vidalis, the Director of Employment and Labor Market of SEV Christos Ioannou, the President of GSEVEE George Kavvathas, the President of SSE Retsos, the General Manager of INSETE Elias Kikilias, the President of SVE Athanasios Savvakis, the Governor of OAED Spyros Protopsaltis and the General Secretary of Employment Support Eleni Gioti.
