The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, had a meeting today with the Ambassador of Russia to Greece, Mr. Andrei Maslov, in which the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomacy and Extroversion, Mr. Costas Frangogiannis, also participated.
The subject of the meeting was both the forthcoming visit of Mr. Varvitsiotis to Moscow (November 29 and 30) and the preparation of that of the Prime Minister on December 8.
During his visit to the Russian capital, the Deputy Foreign Minister will co-chair the 13th Greece-Russia Joint Interministerial Committee, while meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grusko.
During the meeting, the historical ties between Greece and Russia were confirmed, as well as the desire for further cooperation in a number of sectors, such as investment, energy, transport, tourism and interregional cooperation.
