Developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and the importance of avoiding actions that undermine the cohesion of NATO and do not promote the spirit of collective security were the focus of the meeting held today, Friday, August 5, by the Minister of National Defense Nikos Panagiotopoulos with the Supreme Allied Commander in Europe (SACEUR – Supreme Allied Commander Europe) General Christopher Cavoli, as part of his visit to Athens.
As announced, the meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of National Defense Nikos Hardalias and the head of the GEETHA General Konstantinos Floros.
During the meeting, the Minister of National Defense referred to the challenges facing the Alliance and the contribution of our country to the work that SACEUR is called to do.
For his part, General Kavoli highlighted the important contribution and strategic role of Greece as a pillar of security and stability in the wider region.
