The Minister of National Defense, Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos, had a meeting with the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) General Christopher Kavoli today.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of National Defense, Mr. Nikolaos Hardalias, and the Chief of Defense Forces, General Konstantinos Floros.
During the meeting, the Minister referred to the challenges facing the Alliance and the contribution of our country to the work that SACEUR is called upon to carry out.
In addition, the developments in the Eastern Mediterranean were discussed and the importance of avoiding actions that affect the cohesion of the Alliance and do not promote the spirit of collective security was underlined.
General Kavoli highlighted the important contribution and strategic role of Greece as a pillar of security and stability in the wider region.
