Meeting six interior ministers in Bavaria for immigration – ‘unity, cruelty and speed’

“Unity, cruelty and speed” are the most basic aspects of Germany’s immigration policy, Federal Interior Minister Alexander Dobrid has made clear. From Chugspice, Bavaria, where he welcomes his counterparts from five neighboring countries (France, Poland, Czech Republic, Denmark and Austria), Mr Dobrids repeatedly stressed that Berlin wants to take over more responsibilities and leaderships. Minister of the Interior and described the meeting as a “visible sign of unity and determination” in the common objective of “decreasing illegal immigration”. The EU is a cosmopolitan area and will remain so, but smugglers and traffickers should not be able to decide who will be allowed to enter, he added.
