A 'mega-deposit' of counterfeit clothes, accessories and footwear was located by the Civil Police this Wednesday (22), in the Madureira neighborhood, in the north of Rio de Janeiro.
Police agents from the Office for the Suppression of Crimes Against Intangible Property went to the establishment and seized thousands of pieces that had signs of counterfeiting and were being sold and distributed.
In a video released by the Civil Police, it is possible to see the moment in which police officers seize all the material. See below:
According to authorities, two trucks were needed to remove the products, since, in addition to a functioning store, a huge warehouse was found on the second floor of the property.
In a statement, the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro stated that the person responsible for the establishment was taken to the police station to provide clarification on the origin of the products sold.
Furthermore, the author will be liable, in principle, for a crime against industrial property. However, other crimes will be investigated during the investigations.
All seized pieces will be sent to Forensics and, subsequently, will be sent to the Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration (SEAP), where, due to an agreement with the State Secretariat of Civil Police (SEPOL), the mark may be distorted by inmates and donated to needy people.
