Among the many burning revelations delivered to the world by the autobiographical book Shoot of the prince Harry there is also the one – which has already been rumored for years – relating to one of the most salient reasons for the breakup between his wife Meghan MarkleDuchess of Sussex, and her sister-in-law Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales. That is, the now highly investigated topic of the animated discussionthe days before Meghan and Harry’s wedding in May 2018, regarding the dress of one of the bridesmaids. But not just any: the princess Charlotte, daughter of Kate and William. Discussion – based on futile reasons, let’s face it – which at this point would have caused an incurable break between the two.
Prince Harry in his autobiography chat Shoot recounts the exchange of messages between the two sisters-in-law, four days before the Sussex wedding. A bickering that tried the duchess so much that she collapsed to the ground in inconsolable tears
After having listened to, indeed read, the version of the events of the new writer Harry, now there is the family tailor real, also mentioned in Shoot, Ajay Mirpuri, that to the Daily Mail he tells his truth.
Mirpuri says that he and his entire team worked very quickly, before the Sussex royal wedding, to arrange and fit the clothes in the best possible way for the six young ladiesincluding Charlotte (the others were Harry’s goddaughters, Florence van Cutsem and Zalie Warren, Meghan’s goddaughters Rylan and Remi Lit and Ivy Mulroney, and the daughter of Meghan’s friend, Jessica Mulroney), specifying that she did not witness, before that, no discussions about the design and tailoring of the immaculate and delightful white dresses.

White is the color chosen by the Duchess of Sussex for her return to London. Kate instead remembered Diana with the yellow dress by Emilia Wickstead. L’hot pink has also infected the British royals (and not only): Zara and Mike Tindall coordinated are confirmed as the most cool of the family
“If something happened behind the scenes, it didn’t happen in front of me. But yes, weddings are stressful even at the best of times – and especially one at this high level; you have to respect that,” she declared, adding, “They had to deal with a problem like anyone at a wedding, with last-minute hitches. I can understand why someone would be upset if the clothes didn’t fit – it’s unnerving.” It would thus seem, somehow, that the tailor also understands and supports Kate’s point of view.
And he continues: «I feel sorry for all of them, because nobody would want children to go out on such a big stage in an unsuitable dress – and that’s what they were». But he also specifies, with a certain pride: «All six of the bridesmaids’ dresses needed to be repaired, and we did».
Two stylistically distant women, yet with a small fashion affinity that brings them closer than ever. Here’s which one
From the vintage twist to her first rented dress and coat Spencer, the most loved fantasy and the most worn brand in these 365 days. The new Princess of Wales’ year of style in ten points
“We had to work tooth and nail for four days, four of us worked until 4 in the morning for three nights in a row, to make them feel good,” he continued: “We left Windsor Castle at 10 p.m. night before the wedding. Did anyone complain about the bridesmaids’ dresses and how they looked that day? The answer is no”.
And it is at this point that Harry’s story in Shoot reveals the nervous background between the two sisters-in-law.
But that’s another – or perhaps “the” – story. What Mirpuri tells us is a bit like saying: there was a problem, which as in all families was not trumpeted from the rooftops, but the problem was promptly resolved. Point.
Well, point…
