Individual microentrepreneurs (MEI) have until this Monday (21) to pay the Documento de Arrecadação do Simples Nacional (DAS) — a single guide that includes municipal, state and federal taxes — for the month of January.
The MEIs pay monthly 5% of the minimum wage to the National Institute of Social Security (INSS). With the increase in the national floor from BRL 1,100 in 2021 to BRL 1,212 this year, micro-entrepreneurs must now contribute BRL 60.60. Before, the value was R$ 55.
In addition to the R$ 60.60 to the INSS, micro-entrepreneurs also pay taxes according to the activity they perform. Self-employed in the commerce, industry and transport sectors between states and municipalities must pay R$ 1 of ICMS (Tax on Circulation of Goods and Services).
To those who work in activities related to the service sector, the ISS (Service Tax) is levied at the amount of R$ 5.
The monthly contribution through the DAS must be made by the 20th of each month. If the deadline falls on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday, days when there are no bank hours, the tax can be paid until the following business day – in the case of this month of February.
The ticket can be generated on the Entrepreneur Portal.
