Honey Maia , 20, decided to cut her hair on Thursday (23) in order to speed up the hair transition process. She published a video showing off her new look on social media, where she appears with her hair short and brushed.
This Friday morning (24), she appeared again on Instagram stories and clarified that she had not straightened her hair again.
“I just took a shower and gave my hair a finishing touch so you can see what the result looks like without a brush, so you can see how the curls are. The back is already all curly. I'm super detached about my hair. If I could, I would shave everything and go bald to start from 0, but I can't because there are jobs out there,” she said.
The artist revealed that she hasn't put chemicals in her hair since December 2023 and that she is going through this process for the third time.
“This is the third time I’ve tried to make the transition. The first few times it was chaos, I always cried, I felt really bad, because I had a lot of self-esteem problems and I was very young too. (…) The moment I am today, I am prepared. We have to choose a time to do [a transição] that we are doing very well. Hair with two textures is very difficult to care for. It affects self-esteem a lot”, he concluded.
