At what age did you start playing sports?
“I started playing sports when I was very young, around 3-4 years old”.

How many and which disciplines have you practiced in your life?
«I have always had a lot of curiosity towards sports and having been lucky enough to be growing up in Sardinia I had the opportunity to really try everything: gymnastics, horse riding, tennis, football, karate. I loved to go rollerblading and on Sunday mornings I did miles with my bike ».

Is there a sport that has given you particular emotions compared to all the others?
«Karate is what I have practiced for several years at a competitive level, I trained almost every day and on weekends I traveled to compete. That is the sport that has remained in my heart the most… ».

How is / used to prepare psychologically, as well as physically, for a competition or a match?
“At the races I liked to be prepared, I’ve always been very competitive so my goal was always to win and not just to participate”.

When and how much do you currently train?
«At the moment, unfortunately, I train mainly at home. I discovered this new way to train which is honestly not that bad although I miss going to the gym. There are workouts that you can do best in the gym, while others can be done safely in your home. I train about 3 times a week, in the morning or in the afternoon, depending on the various commitments ».

What are the benefits of running?
«You certainly train your breath and endurance a lot. Many calories are burned while running, which is why I always alternate running (therefore cardio training) with my circuits which instead develop more strength. Start 2 Run, the running app I’m in motivational coach it is really useful for this: it accompanies me during my running sessions also because it monitors my heart rate, helping me to understand how to modulate speed and train in the right way ».

Do you follow a particular diet combined with training?
«Absolutely yes: I follow a defined“ sports ”diet, because when you do a lot of sport you have to support yourself above all with food to get results, otherwise it can be counterproductive work. For example, if you exercise a lot and don’t eat enough, your body will start producing a substance called cortisol (the so-called stress hormone. ed) and this is not good, because it can cause swelling ».

What is your concept of psychophysical balance and how do you put it into practice in everyday life?
«For me, physical activity helps my body and mind, which is why I try to never skip my workouts. Everything is connected: you train, you feel better physically, you see yourself better, it helps you to release tension and maybe – for that hour – even not to think about any problems… In short, training really helps at 360 degrees! ».
