Meloni: Italy with its head held high is part of NATO – The message ahead of the mandate to form a government

THE Georgia Meloni shortly before receiving the order to form a government from Sergio Mattarella, he issued a written statement, clarifying that the Italy is and will remain a member of it NATO.

The president of the Brothers of Italy, stated that “in regards to one thing I was, am and will be very clear. I mean to lead a government with a clear foreign policy, which cannot be misinterpreted. Italy is fully, and with its head held high, part of the North Atlantic Alliance and Europe. If one does not agree with this cornerstone, one will not be able to take part in the governmenteven if this means that a government cannot be formed.

He also noted that “Italy, with us in government, will never be the weak link of the West, an insolvent nation that those who criticize us so desire. It will strengthen its credibility and defend its interests.”

“On this point, I will ask all government ministers to be clear. The first rule of a government of politicians with a strong mandate from the Italians is to respect the program voted by the citizens,” she added in her written statement.

It is noted that on Thursday (20/10) and Friday (21/10) the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella he will meet with the representatives of the parties. On Friday afternoon, he is expected to give instructions for the formation of a government to Georgia Meloni who, if there are no special obstacles, can deliver to him the complete list of ministers of the new government during the weekend.
