Member of Bahia gang arrested in SP during football match

A 26-year-old man was arrested this Sunday (7) during the game between Palmeiras and Bahia, at Allianz Parque, in the Água Branca neighborhood, west of São Paulo. The suspect was recognized as a fugitive from justice through surveillance cameras.

According to the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP), the prisoner has a history of drug trafficking, is a member of a criminal faction in Bahia and has been wanted by the courts since April of last year.

Known as “R6”, he had been reported by the Public Ministry of Bahia (MPBA) for being one of the 22 criminals identified as “sellers, lookouts, delivery men and managers of drug trafficking” in the state.

Agents from the intelligence sector of the São Paulo Military Police discovered that the fugitive could be present at Allianz Parque this weekend to watch the football match between Palmeiras and Bahia, and set up the operation to arrest him.

The SSP did not inform which police station the prisoner was taken to, nor whether he should be transferred to Bahia.
