Memorandum of cooperation between the Association of Institutional Investors and ELETEA

In the context of the cooperation of the Hellenic Association of Occupational Insurance Funds (ELETEA) with the Association of Institutional Investors (ETHE), the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the two bodies is announced.

The Memorandum of Cooperation signed by the President of ETH Mr. Chris Aesop and the President of ELETEA Mr. Christos Nounis aims to strengthen the ties between the two bodies and to take joint actions on issues that promote the institution of occupational insurance and strengthen the conscience of Greek society the importance of savings, investments and professional institutional management, as effective tools of economic and social progress for the improvement of the living standard of everyone during their working but mainly retirement life.

The two parties will work together to formulate proposals on the legislative and regulatory framework of the professional funds in the context of European developments, thus effectively utilizing the very high level of expertise available to the members of the two bodies.

The Association of Institutional Investors represents and promotes the professional interests of Greek Investment and Property Management companies. Founded in 1985, it includes all forms of management, private under portfolio, collective through Collective Investment Organizations. Its regular members are Management Companies in the form of Α.Ε.Δ.Α.Κ., Α.Ε.Δ.Ο.Ε.Ε., Α.Ε.Π.Ε.Υ., Α.Ε.Ε. .X., As well as Real Estate Management Companies in the form of S.A.E.A.P .. The Association of Institutional Investors also welcomes affiliated members, Greek or foreign, who are active in Portfolio Management or related areas of the financial field Its purpose is to inform, support, educate its members, which it assists, on a regular basis and at the sectoral level in legal, fiscal, financial, accounting and technical matters. The Association of Institutional Investors is a regular interlocutor with the Ministries and the bodies of the Public sector from which emerges legislation and regulatory decisions, in the formation of which it actively assists. The Association of Institutional Investors issues the Code of Conduct for the industry and through its active participation in the Board of Directors and the Working Committees of EFAMA, the Association of Institutional Investors participates in developments in the field of Investment Management at EU level.

The Hellenic Association of Occupational Insurance Funds is the official institution for the unified representation of Occupational Insurance Funds in Greece. It is a recognized Civil Society of Non-Profit Nature that was founded in June 2018. Its members operate within the framework of the current Law 3029/2002 and are Legal Entities of Private Law of Non-Profit Nature.

The main objectives of the Hellenic Association of Occupational Insurance Funds are:

– To highlight the value of the institution of Occupational Insurance,

– To emphasize the significant comparative advantages of the institution,

– To contribute to the modernization of the industry following the developments and trends of today based on best practices,

– To ensure the rights of the insured and the structures of its member funds,

– To maximize its contribution to society as a whole and to the economy through the added value created by the occupational insurance industry.

The Presidents of the two bodies, Messrs. Christos Nounis, President of the Hellenic Association of Occupational Insurance Funds and Chris Aesop, President of the Association of Institutional Investors, agreed, among other things, to organize on a regular basis, appropriate actions (workshops, conferences, events, etc.) and interventions which will highlight the goals and aspirations of the two bodies with emphasis on the importance of occupational insurance and institutional investment management.

On behalf of ETHE, Mr. Aesop stated: “The Hellenic Association of Occupational Insurance Funds is our constant interlocutor in matters of occupational insurance and the Occupational Insurance Fund that we established for our members in 2020 -TEA-ETHE- is active member of EL.ETEA We have already jointly assisted in actions for the development of the institution of occupational insurance and the Memorandum of Cooperation that we sign today underlines this relationship and will allow its further deepening “.

On behalf of ELETEA, Mr. Nounis noted: “We are particularly pleased to announce today the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Hellenic Association of Occupational Insurance Funds and the Association of Institutional Investors.

This is the 5th collaboration of EL.ET.E.A. with another body but extremely important and particularly symbolic as both parties represent the institutional investors of the Greek economy and serve the institution of professional investment management and insurance to create capital gains in the savings portfolios of their insured members and. We believe that this partnership will be extremely effective in highlighting and achieving the goals of the two bodies. ”
