Memories of January 29th Air Traffic Wake up at Washington’s Reagan Airport

Two planes heading to Washington’s Reagan International Airport were forced to postpone their landing process due to the presence of a US military helicopter, the Federal Air Transport (FAA) said today. FAA, which is investigating this incident, said today that on Thursday the control tower ordered Delta Air Lines 1671 and Republic Airways 5825 circles over the airport because it had a helicopter heading to the Pentagon. Following the January 29 air crash, when an American Airlines aircraft collided with a military helicopter, killing 67 people, FAA imposed permanent restrictions on non -necessary helicopter flights around Raygan International Airport.
