O Pinheiros Municipal Market will receive the first edition of NekôFest a themed festival that promises to delight fans of culture and Asian cuisine . With free entry, it will take place this Saturday, October 21st, and will have a special program, with restaurant stalls offering food from different countries on the continent and cultural attractions that will take visitors on a journey to the other side of the world.
Among the performances are Taiko, Japanese percussion, Kpop shows, Korean popular music, and also Chinese music. Exhibitions of Indian and Polynesian dances, as well as practical crafts and gastronomy workshops are also part of the event.
To eat, well-known Asian cuisine restaurants such as Hidden By 2nd Floor, Sozai Japanese Deli, Pato Rei, Oyajo Tsukemono among others of Korean, Vietnamese, Hawaiian, Japanese, Indian, Thai and Chinese food will have their stalls on site.
Other confirmed presences are Japas Cervejaria and 夢 PRIUS, which will participate in the event offering their craft beers, and Izakaya Donchan and Taka Drinks, which will serve Asian drinks. Bakeries and cafes with typical sweets, such as traditional Japanese choux cream, are also part of the gastronomic program.
The event is designed and carried out by Vou de Nekô, the first delivery app dedicated to Asian cuisine and cultures in the city of São Paulo. The platform was created by Marisol Kiyoko Nakabayashi Cruz Guevara, of Japanese and Colombian descent, and has the mission of promoting the diversity of Asian cuisines and cultures in the capital of São Paulo.
