Mercedes-Benz announced the Hyperscreen MBUX multimedia system at the very beginning of January, and has now shown it in the interior of the finished EQS car – the electric analogue of the flagship S-Class. As you can see, the backlit Hyperscreen MBUX takes up almost all of the front panel space. Even the central ventilation deflectors had to be made narrow and long – all the rest of the space was given to the displays.
Hyperscreen MBUX has three screens. The smallest one is used in the dashboard, the other is slightly larger – in front of the front passenger, and the largest is the central one as part of the infotainment complex. The displays are united by a protective glass, and it even captures the side ventilation deflectors. All screens use OLED panels, and their total diagonal is 56 inches. The system uses a 9-core processor, 24 GB of RAM, and 12 vibration motors are responsible for the tactile response when you press the touch screen. The manufacturer does not say anything about the cost of the Hyperscreen MBUX, but there is no doubt that it is one of the most expensive media systems in the history of the automotive industry. By the way, the Burmester audio system with 15 loudspeakers is responsible for the sound in the EQS.
The images clearly show that, if necessary, the passenger’s screen can be hidden. Well, you don’t even have to talk about the presence of leather seats and contour lighting – it is put by EQS by default. But what is interesting is that some semblance of a central tunnel has been preserved at the back, although there is no propeller shaft in the car: the EQS is built on a fully electric MEA (Modular Electrical Architecture) platform, in which the battery is included in the power structure of the body.
EQS specs have not been reported, but at least 500-700hp is available. and all-wheel drive is no doubt. The car will be fully declassified on April 15 at the Shanghai Auto Show.
