Mercedes-Benz introduced four electric cars: from the killer Tesla to the crossover from Maybach

Today, September 6, Mercedes-Benz announced several of its electric cars at once, which will compete with the main players in the market and are a vivid demonstration of what the brand will sell in the near future. The public debut at the presentation in Munich will take place tomorrow, September 7, where the same cars will allow you to see, touch, and maybe even take a ride on a test drive.

Mercedes-Benz EQE

The lineup of cars of the Mercedes-EQ family has got another interesting novelty called EQE – the company itself believes that this is a dangerous competitor for cars like the Tesla Model S and even the Porsche Taycan. This model is still presented on a rear-wheel drive with an EQE 350 electric power plant with a total power of 292 horsepower – with it, the car, theoretically, should accelerate from zero to a hundred in 5.6 seconds. All-wheel drive is promised to be shown a little later, but so far the manufacturer has announced 660 kilometers of travel on a single charge with support for fast charging (from 10 to 80% the car is charged in 30 minutes).

Inside, the car, as expected, is equipped with a digital dashboard, a touchscreen display of the multimedia system, and for a fee, you can get a huge panel across the entire width of the car (as in the flagship EQS). Also, the car will receive an adaptive air suspension, a fully-controlled chassis with support for turning the rear wheels up to 10 degrees and an impressive list of smart assistants.

Unfortunately, the cost of the Mercedes-Benz EQE has not yet been announced, although the new sedan should reach dealerships in early 2022.

Mercedes-AMG EQS

Just a few days ago, AMG unveiled its first hybrid GT 63 SE Performance with 843 horsepower, and now it’s time for electric cars. The first AMG electric car was a pumped-up version of the EQS – with a power plant of 649 horsepower at 949 Nm of torque and Race Start technology, which for a short period of time increases the power of the electric motors to 751 horses at 1020 Nm. This electric car accelerates from zero to hundreds in 3.4 seconds at a maximum speed of 250 km / h. But about the range of travel on a single charge, the engineers decided not to report.

Like the EQE, the AMG EQS is equipped with 9-degree rear wheel steer technology to reduce the full turning radius. Outwardly, the car vaguely resembles an AMG model, but, of course, to a greater extent because of decorative elements such as a fake Panamericana radiator grill. But at the back there is a small spoiler, and in the base the car runs on 21-inch wheels. The salon, of course, hardly differs from the EQE – there is the same digital dashboard, but there are sports bucket seats, a branded steering wheel and small details.

Mercedes-AMG EQS will also appear at official dealerships early next year, no hurry to announce the price.

Mercedes-Benz Concept EQG

It should be immediately noted that at the moment the EQG is only a concept that demonstrates what an electric Mercedes-Benz G-class can be. On the other hand, representatives of the company said that the electric “Gelik” is not just a show car, which will be shown in Munich and forgotten, but a prototype very close to the production car. The manufacturer plans to release a serial model in 2024, but, of course, so far these are only distant plans. Moreover, no characteristics of the Concept EQG were announced – they will have to wait a little longer.
