Mercedes-Benz has officially unveiled the concept of its electric copactvan EQT Concept, which should open a new generation of commercial vehicles from this manufacturer. It is worth noting that they created a novelty in cooperation with Daimler and Renault, which is clearly visible in the interior of the car. In fact, the Mercedes-Benz EQT Concept is an electric version of the current Renault Kangoo compact van in a long wheelbase configuration, and potential buyers of this car will be families with children, outdoor enthusiasts and representatives of the corporate sector.
At the same time, the company’s designers tried to make the electric car more recognizable, so the novelty is made in the style of Mercedes-EQ – on the front panel, instead of the usual radiator grill, an imitating plug with illumination and LED edging is used, there is also a company logo (it also acts as a charging hatch) and elongated LED optics. The car also boasts 21-inch aero-effect wheels, hidden door handles and unusual brake light designs. However, these decorative elements may well be converted to simpler ones for a production model – the headlights, for example, will most likely be replaced with traditional ones.

But in the cabin, the resemblance to Renault Kangoo is very noticeable – even experienced Mercedes-Benz designers could not hide it. Naturally, the dashboard, door cards and infotainment system have been replaced, but the similarities have not gone away. However, the design of the concept turned out to be much more attractive and modern. Unfortunately, representatives of the company did not say anything about the technical equipment of the Mercedes-Benz EQT Concept – it is only known that there will be a complete set on an electric power plant and on a conventional internal combustion engine. The premiere of production models should take place before the end of the year, then the manufacturer will tell all the details.
