Amid growing concerns about the coronavirus across the Old Continent, the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel has said that the country’s management of the pandemic has “gotten out of control”the Bild newspaper reported Tuesday.

“The potential threat from different virus variants, which spread more rapidly, means that Germany is ‘sitting on a powder keg’, warning that the virus situation could easily get worse in the coming weeks. “
