“Mermaids”: Meet Julianne Moore’s mystery with production by Margot Robbie

Netflix’s new mystery and drama miniseries, “Mermaids” reached the platform this Thursday (22). The work of five chapters, which has production of Margot Robbie (“Barbie”) and her husband, Tom Ackerley is starring Julianne Moore (“Forever Alice”), (Meghann Fahy (“The White Lotus”), Milly Alcock (“The Dragon House”) and Kevin Bacon (“Footloose”).

In the plot, Devon (Fahy) thinks your sister Simone (Alcock) has a very frightening relationship with his new boss, the enigmatic socialite Michaela Kell (Moore). Michaela’s luxury and worship life is like a drug for Simone, and Devon decides it’s time to intervene, but there is no idea how formidable opponent Michaela will be.

The story is narrated over an explosive weekend on the luxurious property of Kells Beach. “Mermaids” is still described as incisive, sexy and darkly funny.

“This story has a lot of strength,” says executive producer Smith Metzler on the Netflix website. “There are real times of drama, and this will make people uncomfortable. Operating is a word I like to use to describe. It’s a true black humor comedy – and has a Greek mythology footprint.”
