THE Pope Francis wanted to send a message of hope, in the service held at the Vatican, on the eve of Catholic Easter.
The service ended before 10 pm, Italian time, so that the faithful can return to their homes before the curfew takes effect, due to the emergency measures in force to limit the coronavirus epidemic.
“We can always make a new beginning, because there is a new life, which the Lord is able to urge us to start, beyond any failure,” said the pope. “And from the ruins of our hearts, the Lord can make a work of art. “And from the ruined nuggets of our humanity, the Lord is preparing a new story,” added Francis.
“In these months of the pandemic, we feel the resurrected Lord calling us to start again, never to lose hope. “Jesus is always ahead: on the cross of pain, loneliness and death, as well as in the glory of a life that is resurrected, of a history that changes, of a hope that is born,” the Argentine pope stressed.
