Analytical company Messari reports that compared to October 2021, the number of investments in the cryptocurrency sphere fell by 46%, and their volume fell by 74% at once.
If in September of this year there were 97 venture investments in cryptocurrency firms, then in October the figure dropped to 71. At the same time, a year ago, the number of investments was 131. In terms of investment, the decrease is even more significant – in October the industry received $ 850 million. This is 46% less than in September ($1.57 billion), and 74% less than in October last year ($3.21 billion).
Most investments were in Web3 projects and other cryptocurrency projects – 31. Companies working on infrastructure attracted 15 investments. At the same time, the largest capital ($165 million) was raised in October by Uniswap Labs, the company behind the decentralized exchange of the same name. The French developer of casual games using NFT Homa received $100 million for development. In third place in terms of funds raised was the Web3 Tatum project ($41.5 million).
It was recently reported that October saw the lowest trading volume for crypto products for institutional investors.
