Mestre accident, the stories of the victims and those who survived

There is also a baby just a few months old among the 21 victims of the accident Mestre. There are few identifications for now apart from that of the driver, Alberto Rizzotto, whose body was the last to be extracted from the wreckage. Victims

Among the 21 victims, 7 have been identified. Wounded

Another newborn was saved by his parents who covered him with their bodies. The 4-year-old girl, with serious burns, and a 50-year-old woman, who is believed to be Ukrainian, were taken to Padua. The four most seriously injured are people between 20 and 30 years old.

Two German brothers aged 7 and 13 they suffered femur fractures and lumbar trauma. They underwent surgery during the night and are said to be out of danger. They may have lost both parents. There is a Spanish woman with burns on 60% of her body. Two other Spaniards and a Ukrainian have rib and vertebral fractures.

«As 118 we are trying to recover all the information to establish the identity of the victims. There are still 14 dead and 4 injured still without a name. A marginal activity, certainly, in support of the police forces but necessary given the conditions. The magistrate will appoint an expert responsible for carrying out the recognition, through dental and digital impressions. A job done in concert with the scientific police” said Paolo Rosi, director of the 118 Veneto Region.
