META offered Openai specialists at $ 100 million for the transition to their team

The head of OpenAI Sam Altman said that Meta offered the leading specialists of the company compensation in the amount of over $ 100 million for the transition to the corporation. He spoke about this during the podcast with his brother Jack Altman. According to his entrepreneur, the proposals received key employees, but none of them left.

CEO Openai suggested that the team remained thanks to faith in the mission to create superinTelelex (Agi), which META does not share. He added that “META concentration on money is unlikely to create a strong innovative culture.” Altman also emphasized that he considers his company to be more capable of breaking up than competitors.

According to sources, META tried to lure the researcher Noah Brown and the architect of the Google AI, Karya Kavukchuoglu, but both refused. Despite this, Meta attracted Jack Ray from Deepmind and Johan Shalkvik from Sesame Ai. SCALE AI, the company of Alexander Van, which now became the head of the Meta Superinellelect team, was also reported.

Altman also said that the corporation’s efforts “have not worked as well as they hoped.” He respects some aspects of the company, but does not consider META a capable of real innovations in AI. Against this background, Openai prepares the release of an open model that can strengthen its leadership, the businessman noted.

The head of Openai also hinted at the internal development of social networks on the basis of AI. According to him, it will form tapes based on user preferences, unlike traditional algorithms. Meanwhile, META is experimenting with Meta AI, but the project has criticized the AI’s too personal answers.

The competition between Altman and Zuckerberg intensifies, analysts note. In their opinion, META will have to quickly strengthen the team and build a product strategy so as not to yield to Openai, Anthropic and Deepmind in the new generation AGI and AIS.
