Metacritic has published the top worst games of 2022: critics and gamers agree

Today, December 13, the rating aggregator Metacritic published the top worst games for 2022, which, by unanimous decision of journalists and gamers, was headed by the video game Postal 4: No Regerts. The shooter, which was once considered the most reckless and daring, scored only 30 points out of 100 possible – the audience crushed the project for the most boring gameplay, low quality graphics and the game as a whole. It is worth noting that although the “shooter” was really smashed to smithereens, the Steam page boasts 76% of positive feedback from players. Probably most of those who wrote these reviews simply did not launch the game.

The 10 worst video games of 2022 according to Metacritic

  1. Postal 4: No Regerts – 30 points.
  2. CrossfireX – 38 points.
  3. Babylon’s Fall – 41 points.
  4. XEL – 43 points.
  5. LEGO Brawls – 46 points.
  6. Zorro: The Chronicles – 49 points.
  7. The Last Oricru – 50 points.
  8. The Waylanders – 51 points.
  9. Kamiwaza: The Way of the Thief – 52 points.
  10. Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition – 52 points.

In second place, surprisingly enough, in the rating of failures of the current year was the game CrossfireX, created on the basis of the cult franchise of shareware shooters from the South Korean company SmileGate. For some reason, the publisher decided that the new part of the multiplayer shooter should be exclusive to the Xbox platform, so the game did not come out outside the consoles of the past and current generation of Microsoft, but this did not help either. Gamers are horrified by the technical component of the release, incomprehensible shooting physics and many bugs that prevent them from playing comfortably. But the most failed game, perhaps, is the project on the third line of the rating.

We are talking about Babylon’s Fall from Square Enix – initially the role-playing game was supposed to be something like a mixture of Dark Souls and Godfall, but it turned out so badly that the project, released in 2022, is conditionally closed in February 2023. Yes, critics gave the game only 2.1 points out of 10 possible, gamers awarded the release 41 points out of 100 possible, and the maximum online project on Steam was only 1,118 gamers. Yes, a little more than a thousand players in a project for $70, which is geared towards online. It’s hard to imagine that a publisher of this caliber could fail so loudly and devastatingly, but it’s a fact.
