MetaMask app was removed from the App Store

On October 14, 2023, the MetaMask app was unavailable for download on the App Store for several hours.

“We know that MetaMask is not yet available for download on the App Store. This is not related to malicious activity and we are working hard to resolve this issue as soon as possible,” the team wrote.

Users were also urged to report fake apps.

A few hours later, X (formerly Twitter) announced that the app was available for download again.

In the message Cointelegraph it is said that the reason for the disappearance probably lies in Apple’s service policy. According to marketplace rules, app developers are not allowed to run “background processes,” such as cryptocurrency mining.
