Metamask Developers Restore Support For Ledger Nano Hardware Wallets

Consensys, the company behind the popular cryptocurrency wallet Metamask, announced the resumption of support for Ledger Nano hardware wallets.

Support for this model of hardware wallets was disabled after the update of the Chromium web browser engine, on the basis of which popular browsers are built, including Google Chrome, Opera, Brave and many others.

“The entire Web3 community was affected by this issue and we worked hard to fix it. We have now released Metamask 10.5.0 and you can work with your Ledger Nano devices again, ”Consensys said in a statement.

Also, the developers talked about the expansion of cooperation with Ledger. Through the partnership, the companies hope to make it easier to use hardware wallets in the Metamask app and make it more secure.

To work with the Ledger Nano, Metamask users need to select the WebHID connection type in the advanced wallet settings. After that, you need to carry out the standard procedure for connecting the device to Metamask. That being said, you no longer need to use the Ledger Live app to connect your hardware wallet to Metamask.

Recently, ConsenSys CEO Joseph Lubin hinted at the possibility of issuing a $ MASK token and distributing it to Metamask wallet users.
