Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition is the first game you can’t run without an RTX graphics card

Yesterday, April 28, the developers from the 4A Games studio published the news, in which they announced the system requirements for the Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition game and announced the official release date of the updated project. It turned out, as previously reported by insiders, the game will be released on May 6, but not all fans of the franchise will be able to appreciate the beauty of 4K textures, VRS, DLSS 2.0 and, of course, improved lighting based on ray tracing, since it is necessary to launch the Enhanced Edition have a video card that, quite logically, supports this ray tracing. This is the first game on the market that simply cannot be launched without a graphics card with tensor cores.

Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition System Requirements

Developers from 4A Games said that when creating the original project, they had to compromise to create lighting that would work on all graphics cards, but still look attractive. In the case of the improved version of the shooter, no concessions had to be made, so the creators of the project realized the advantages of the technology one hundred percent – now the lighting looks much more realistic, and in some scenes the contrast is so bright that the original game seems morally outdated. This is especially true for dark locations with rare light sources.

Also, the image will look more attractive thanks to DLSS 2.0 – the details have become clearer, the frame rate has increased (albeit slightly). The authors of the project stated that the reworking of the game is so significant that it was impossible to release it in patch format, so the Enhanced Edition is delivered in the format of a separate game. And the good news is that if a gamer has already purchased the original version, then he gets the update completely free – you can even transfer the save to Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG to continue from the same place where the player left off, but with a more beautiful picture.
