Mexican patent: The mini nose protection masks for use in restaurants

A new protection mask from Covid-19, which covers only the nose, have developed researchers in Mexico so that its users can eat freely without worrying about possible spread of the virus.

These unusual masks, worn under normal and designed by researchers at the National Technical University of Mexico (IPN), were shown in a video showing a man and a woman enjoying their meal.

On social media, some users welcomed the idea, noting that these masks would actually reduce the spread of coronavirus, but others were amused by their unusual appearance. “Well, not a new patent. “The clowns have been wearing them for years,” one of them wrote on Twitter. “I know it’s ridiculous, but to be fair, the nose contains the highest concentration of receptors to which the coronavirus attaches, so it’s better than not wearing a mask at all when you eat.”

According to Johns Hopkins University in the USA, the olfactory cells of the human body are the main source of entry for the coronavirus, making it important to cover the nose. But the World Health Organization recommends masks that cover not only the nose but also the mouth and chin for better protection against the coronavirus.
