A few days ago, Marcelo Ebrard, Secretary of Foreign Affairs (SRE) in Mexico, spoke about the possibility of giving refuge to Afghan citizens after the Taliban regime completely seized Kabul in Afghanistan and will begin to impose its rules, which threaten against the human rights of women.
At first, no details were given of how many women would arrive in the Aztec country or under what conditions, but on August 24, Marcelo Ebrard and his working group welcomed the first group of refugees. These are five female members of the Afghanistan robotics team, as well as journalists who worked for the Kabul media.
The women arrived in Mexico City, Mexico after a 20-hour flight. In addition, they received humanitarian visas, which are issued to protect foreigners in distress.
Fatemah Qaderyan, Lida Azizi, Kawsar Roshan, Maryam Roshan and Saghar Salehi are part of the Afghan Dreamers Team, a robotics group that in recent years has won international tournaments and is recognized worldwide for manufacturing home ventilators for patients with covid-19 .
It is an honor that the government of Mexico has honored us with being able to be here and have saved our lives.

But they are not the only people from Afghanistan who came to Mexico. The Mexican government also welcomed reporters and members of various Afghan media, who also applied for humanitarian visas.
All reporters and members of staff They arrived accompanied by their families, with a total of 124 people arriving in the Mexican country in search of a new opportunity and asylum.
For security reasons, the headquarters that provides accommodation, food and basic services at no cost to the refugees is unknown. However, more Afghans are expected to arrive in the country in the coming days, who will surely be greeted with the same warmth and attention.
