Eight people lost their lives in car accident in town Cancun of Mexico, when a bus collided with a truck, according to local authorities. Among the dead, two nationals France and one Germany.
The accident took place on Sunday (6/2), on a highway that connects it Share, in the state Yucatan (east), with the seaside tourist resort Cancun, one of the main destinations of foreign visitors, located in the southeast of the country.
The prosecutor’s office clarified in a statement that five of the people who lost their lives were citizens Mexico, two nationals France and one Germany.
Another 19 people are being treated at a hospital in Cancun, ten of which are in serious condition. The bus was carrying 45 people, among them several foreign tourists who would spend their holidays in destinations in Caribbean, especially in Cancun, in Side del Carmen and to Tulum.
The cause of the fatal crash, which occurred on a freeway without many turns, at a point where visibility is generally good, remains unknown. The bus overturned after colliding with the truck. The two drivers, who were injured when the accident took place, are under investigation.
