Russia’s armed forces are expected to move into some sort of suspension of operations in Ukraine in the coming weeks, giving the Ukrainians a significant opportunity to strike back, the head of Britain’s foreign intelligence service said on Thursday, speaking at the Aspen Security Forum in Colorado, US. as reported by Reuters.
“I think they are one step away from running out of propulsion power. Our assessment is that the Russians will find it increasingly difficult to recruit new fighters in the coming weeks,” said Richard Moore, head of the Secret Intelligence Service (SIS), known as MI6. .
“They should proceed to some kind of pause and that will give the Ukrainians the opportunity to counterattack,” he said.
He added that UK agencies have no information to suggest that Russian President Vladimir Putin is seriously ill.
