The First Presbyterian Church of Miami, Florida, announced in its Easter greeting that it would accept donations in the Dogecoin cryptocurrency.
About it informed Pastor Christopher Benek comments on a tweet by Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk. Musk congratulated users on Easter by posting a photo of a Shiba Inu dog with a basket of eggs, which depict the Dogecoin symbol. Benek wrote in the comments that the historic church in Miami is also joining the DOGE fans and will accept charitable contributions in this cryptocurrency.
The clergyman Christopher Benek is considered to be a strong supporter of Dogecoin, so the announcement of the acceptance of DOGE did not come as a surprise to his subscribers. In addition to regular services, the church is holding meetings remotely, with no objection to the use of technology.
The Miami Presbyterian Church also accepts bitcoin donations. Considering that it has a large number of parishioners, the church intends to promote the distribution of digital assets even among the elderly population, as it sees great potential in them.
Not all clergy support the interest of citizens in cryptocurrencies. Earlier, Patriarch Kirill of the Russian Orthodox Church urged people to be careful with digital assets so as not to be tempted to take risks that they might later regret.
