The president of the European Council also announced the return of the EU ambassadors to Tripoli in the coming weeks.

Migration remains a “major issue” for the EU’s relations with Libya, Michel said, adding that the country is a major transit point for tens of thousands of migrants, mainly from sub-Saharan Africa, trying to reach by sea. on the Italian coast.

Michelle announced that Brussels will donate 50,000 doses of vaccine to Covid-19 in Libya, which earlier today received its first vaccine, 100,000 doses of Russian Sputnik V.

Finally, the president of the Council demanded that “all mercenaries and foreign soldiers” leave the country quickly. According to the UN, about 20,000 foreign fighters were still in Libya in December, and calls for their immediate withdrawal are multiplying. Today, Libyan Foreign Minister Najla al-Mangous reiterated her call.
